Incorrectly cooked food - why does this matter?

For partners, an article explaining why incorrectly cooked food leads to low ratings, why this matters, and how to fix this.

Why does incorrectly cooked food matter?

Delivering incorrectly cooked food to customers has a significant impact on ratings.

Rating is the principle factor that drives traffic on the platforms to a restaurant listing.  At PWB we expect our partners to have a rating of 4.2 or above.
A low rating is an indicator of poor food quality and this drives customers away.  We know that once a listing rating drops below 4.2 sales drop 20% for every further 0.2 stars that it drops further.  Once a listing drops below 4.0 you risk being delisted from Deliveroo.
Rating also directly impacts ranking.  The lower your rating, the further a customer will have to scroll to find your listing.  When a customer does eventually find your listing they will be unlikely to place an order due to your low rating.  Fewer customers placing an order ultimately means fewer sales for your business.

How can I improve?

By addressing this issue, you can directly improve your ratings.
To ensure you are cooking your food for the right length of time, please follow the guidelines set out in the Training Guides and Cheat Sheets which can be found in the Training section within Partner Portal.
As undercooked chicken can be dangerous, please ensure you use a thermometer to check that it has reached an internal temperatures of 75°C before you remove it from the fryer.

Tip: check your portions - oversized and undersized portions will not cook within the times set out in the cheat sheets.

Find the right specification and quality ingredients from our supply chain by ordering via Apicbase.

You can also find lots of other training videos within the Training section.  Please ensure any new staff watch these videos as part of their onboarding and training.
