How to set up the Just Eat tablet

For partners in the UK: Steps for setting up the Just Eat tablet and activating your account to start trading

Introduction

In order to go live on Just Eat you will need an FSA rating of 3+ and to already be registered and trading on Just Eat with your existing restaurant - you can find more details on Just Eat's virtual brands policy here.   In addition, due to Just Eat's virtual brands policy you will not be able to launch with a full stack of brands - click here for more information on which PWB brands you can use.

Just Eat will review your account and once they have approved your acccount for trading they will send you a tablet (this can take up to 6 weeks from launch). 

Once you have received your Just Eat tablet there are some extra steps that you will need to take  in order to go live and start trading on Just Eat.  In this article we explain how to set up your Just Eat tablet and how to activate your Just Eat account.

Tip: A menu push must be performed and the order pad must be on and connected before activation can happen.


Setting up your Just Eat Tablet

  • Ensure the power cable is securely plugged into the back of the device
  • Plug into a power source
  • Turn on the device via the switch on the back of the machine
  • Allow the screen to load
  • The first screen shows country and language > Press “Next” to continue
  • The next screen is an intro > Press “Skip intro” on top right of screen
  • The following screen is a login page > Press the circle at the bottom of the screen (in between the triangle and square) - if this is not visible, swipe the screen up to pull the button into view
  • The next screen shows “Order Pad” > Press the cog symbol on the top right of screen 
  • If using WiFi:
    • Select WiFi
    • Choose network
    • Enter password > press “OK”
    • Connection is successful when WiFi symbol appears on top right of screen
    • Press circle button at the bottom of screen to exit
  • If using SIM data:
    • toggle WiFi off
    • Press circle button at the bottom of screen to exit
  • Press “Order Pad” to return to login screen
  • Please keep device plugged in, on and connected to WiFi at all times
  • Do not turn off device

Activating Just Eat

  • Call Just Eat direct on 020 3912 6452, select option 1
  • Confirm to Just Eat that the order pad is switched on and connected to WiFi/SIM data and you would like to activate
  • Confirm your site postcode
  • Confirm restaurant name - eg. Seoul Chikin - [Street name]
  • Confirm hours and menu present

Tip: An example of the content of a call could be: “Hi, I have my order pad turned on and connected to WiFi/SIM. Please can I activate? Hours and menu have been set already. The Restaurant is Seoul Chikin - [Street name], the postcode is [Post code].”

  • Just Eat may walk you through some training of the order pad and offer to place a test order to make sure it is set up correctly
  • Your listing should be visible on the platform within 30 mins

Tip: When the listing is live you should check the customer view to make sure it has loaded up -  go to  https://www.just-eat.co.uk/ and enter the restaurant postcode and search the brands to make sure that have gone live and that the images and menus are showing correctly.
